Noramerica Post & Beam Cottage on 2.5 acres of lakefront for rent with 318 feet of shoreline (no neighbors for 200 feet each way). 1 hour 50 minutes or 165 Km. from Toronto. (Yonge & Steeles). Close to Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon. Locally there are a variety of Trails, Golf Courses, Fishing, Boat Rentals and ATV trails (E108). Additional tourist information and maps are at the cottage.
Deep water off dock at one end of the property, and shallow water at the other end of the property. Private beach in a bay on the property for your enjoyment. Great area for kids (very shallow walkout) or putting the canoe in the water, paddle boats etc. Ministry of Natural Resources classifies Crystal Lake as a Class 5 lake. The best rating you can get. Only two other lakes in the Kawarthas have this rating. Deep lake, spring fed, Clean water, No Weeds, good fishing. Canoe, Paddle boats and windsurfer are at the private beach ready to be used.
A small town (Kinmount) is 5 km North with a grocery store, liquor store, Famous movie theatre and museum http://www.highlandscinemas.com/second_page.php and other shops.
Situated on 2.5 acres of forested land and water front of 318 feet, this spectacular cottage is a gem. Privacy is assured. There is a level interlocking walkway that leads to the cottage. The cottage is elevated and it is an easy walk down to the beach and or to the dock. Interlocking walkway from the driveway is level to the door.
When you enter the foyer the first thing that captures your attention is the 23 foot high floor to ceiling expanse of windows and the magnificent view beyond of the lake. Maple Hardwood flooring along with a granite floor, meticulously laid and cared for.
Complete kitchen with dishwasher, stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and all the pots, pans and dishes you will ever need. Also buffet and hutch with additional dishes and glassware and a view of the forest out the kitchen window. Ready for you to pour yourself a glass of wine and relax on the patio or on one of the balconies.
One of the balconies/decks is furnished with a bistro set (chairs & table). The deck is also where you’ll find the propane BBQ.
The Main Room is well equipped with a DVD, CD Stereo, Satellite TV (Starchoice) with the movie channels (No Pay per view).
On the main floor is the great room which opens to the dining area, kitchen, foyer, main floor bedroom and bathroom. The main floor bathroom features antique table, pedestal sink, claw foot tub with shower enclosure and granite floor.
Walkout basement to a large interlock porch that has a 10x10 portable screened-in porch.
On the walk-out level (lower level) there is a large bedroom with Queen and Double size beds, also a queen size sofa bed in the rec room along with a large bathroom equipped with an antique claw foot tub. Nothing beats a hot (hot!) bath in a cast iron tub with soft music and a little aroma therapy. Around the corner a large selection of cottage board games. Sliding glass doors lead to the interlocking deck just outside.
This cottage comes fully equipped with pillows and blankets. Renters need to provide there own linens and towels.
What you don’t notice is the built in quality such as the ‘peg’ post and beam construction not a single nail was used in these logs. The recessed lighting and dimmer switches add to the ease of lighting in the evening to obtain the perfect ambiance.
The waterfront has a sandy beach area ideal for ‘walk-in’ swimmers at one end of the waterfront or you can dive off the end of the dock where the water level is about 12 feet deep. The dock is a 12’ x 10’ with a swim ladder, diving board, and in a protected Harbour.
Fall is also a spectacular time of the year in the Kawarthas - come enjoy the colours while enjoying all this property has to offer.
